ABOUT FREY
Hi! My name is Frey. I grew up in an Asian family where handcraft was always around me — my aunt sewing quilts, knitting sweaters, making clothes and shoes by hand. I loved watching her, and soon, I started picking up scraps to make clothes for my dolls. Back then, creating things with my hands made me feel safe and happy.
But like many of us, I was taught that crafting wasn’t a “real future.” I worked hard for decades to follow the path expected of me — good grades, big companies, stability. I gave up my childhood passions, one by one.
It took more than 20 years, complete burnout, and a deep struggle with anxiety and depression before I finally asked myself:
What if I stopped everything and simply started over?
In 2021, I left my job and began making things again. Quietly. Slowly. I sewed, knitted, experimented — and for the first time in years, I felt like myself again. I wasn’t earning anything. But I felt alive.
In 2024, I made a little Hug Cat bag charm. Friends asked where it came from. I posted a video on TikTok. People wanted to buy it. That was the very first product that brought in income — and it changed everything.
Since then, I’ve been creating functional, beautiful fabric goods: everyday bags, small pouches, little textile accessories. I’ve also started making jewelry — each piece meaningful, like the very first silver bangle I engraved with 00:00 — I Am the Starting Point to mark the beginning of this new journey.
My design style has grown with me. I still love simplicity — but not the kind that feels distant or cold. I want the things I make to feel gentle. Honest. Maybe even a little funny sometimes. A spacious tote with quiet strength. A soft charm that makes someone smile.
I don’t belong to a single aesthetic — and I’m okay with that. Every piece I make holds a bit of warmth and a bit of me. My hope is that it feels like you, too.
The studio has grown a little, and now I’m joined by three helping hands. I’m still figuring things out — from marketing to ad campaigns to all the messy bits in between — but I try to build slowly, stay true, and leave space for joy.
If you’re here, reading this — thank you.
Every order keeps this small dream going. I often include a little gift, just to say: I see you. I’m grateful.
Let’s keep building something handmade, warm, and true.
