So I use four layers: the outer fabric, cotton batting, firm interfacing, and lining. I clamp it in place and then hand-stitch it through the holes along the frame. You can see those little stitches. I'm always trying out different fabrics, but quite a few of them just aren't sturdy enough for the shape I want.
